Archiving
Imagine gives you the flexibility to choose and mix storage
media--SAN, NAS, DAS, DVD or tape libraries--for image
archiving according to your performance requirements and
budget. The archiving module has a built-in disaster recovery
system: A copy of an archived image is automatically written
on to DVD or tape, or stored in a remote site for configuration
with disaster recovery.
Images are stored in JPEG lossless 2:1 format as per DICOM
standards for easy export to CD/DVD media and exchange
with other PACS subsystems.
Any number of acquisition servers and workstations can
be connected to the archive. A multithreading and multiprocessing
architecture supports an unlimited number of read and write
sessions without degradation in performance.
While a scaleable architecture enables storage of an unlimited
number of studies in an online archive, images can be moved
to a long-term archive on the basis of preset rules.
